Bridal Showers are gift giving parties. Bridal showers have their origins in the dowry system and poor families were helped by friends and relatives in Europe to make up the dowry using gifts received at a bridal shower. The modern bridal shower has become a North American tradition.

The maid of honor usually hosts bridal showers and all female friends and relatives are invited to shower gifts on the bride. The Bridal shower is held a week or two days before the wedding depending on the convenience of the guests. All who are invited for the wedding are generally invited for the bridal shower. Themed bridal showers have become the order of the day to make gift giving easy and to add a certain uniqueness to the party. Bridal showers are parties where a bride receives gifts before she is given away. Wedding ideas
